WA Species: Info, Tips and Techniques for catching your targeted species

Western Australia is home to a vast range of fish species.  Due to the shear size of the state and different climates within, the fish species you can catch vary dramatically.  As an example, the species up north are completed different to the species down south.

If you’re into your fast sports fishing species such as Giant Trevally, Threadfin Salmon or even Barramundi then the shallow reefs and riverways of the north are where you want to be.  Or alternatively, if you’re keen to get into some good eating, head thumbing species such as Dhufish or Pink Snapper then the colder waters of Perth and the south west are your areas.
