Waroona Dam (often known Lake Navarino) is a popular dame for water-skiing, camping, fishing, kayaking and bushwalking.

Camping at Waroona Dam

When it comes to camping at Waroona you have two options. For those that enjoy some bush camping you can camp of the rivers edge. Or alternatively there is camping at Lake Navarino Holiday Park which includes cabins, cottages, park homes and motel units. For those that want to camp in style, they also offer glamping experiences.

Things to do at Waroona Dam

Waroona dam is the perfect location to kick back and enjoy yourself with family and friends. Below are a a few things you can do whilst visiting Waroona:


For those keen to cast a line, fishing is permitted in Waroona Dam. You can fish either by boat or from the shore. If you’re lucky you may catch a nice rainbow trout or a big brown trout. You can also catch plenty of redfin Perch too.


Waroona is a great spot for water skiing. With it’s close proximity to Perth it’s a great location to launch the boat and take the family out for some skiing or wake boarding.

Note, unfortunately there is no official boat ramp here and if you need to launch a boat you’ll have to launch it direct off the bank.

4wding Waroona

Located to the east of the Waroona town, Waroona Dam is approximately 1.5hrs from Perth (130kms via the south west highway).
