Warroora Station Surfing: Pristine surfing on the Ningaloo Reef!

Some video footage of surfing at Warroora.

There are three surf breaks at Warroora – one at Stevens and the other two at Lagoon and Sandy Point.  The surf break at Stevens can be accessed via the beach where Lagoon and Sandy Point surf breaks are accessible via boat.

If you’re keen to see what Steven’s surf break is like (well in good conditions) check out the below video from Sarah and Keelan Travel’s channel on YouTube. (Surfing footage starts from about 3.30 mins in)

Surf Safety

As these breaks are somewhat remote, remember that when surfing these areas your safety is your responsibility.  Before heading out make sure that you’re experienced enough to take on the surf and if you’re in doubt then it’s best not to go out.

Always check the weather before you head out, in particular check the winds as these will impact the surfing conditions.  You can’t beat a nice offshore wind at Waroona… great for holding up the waves and producing some great barrels.

Additionally to this, remember to tell someone where you’re going and to notify them when you return and as always be sure to be sun safe and slip, slop and slap!

Oh and if you’re worried about sharks in the area then visit our shark safety page for more info on actions you can take to ease your concerns.
