Ledge Point, Western Australia

Ledge Point is a quaint coastal town located approximately 120kms north of Perth, Western Australia.  Originally established to support local fishing and rock lobster businesses, Ledge Point has since grown from this to now being a popular holiday spot within WA.

How to get to Ledge Point?

Ledge Point is located 120kms north of Perth and will take you around 1.5hrs to drive there.  Alternatively, if you’re driving up from Seabird then it’s a 30kms north of Seabird or 16km south of Lancelin.

Things to do at Ledge Point

Although Ledge Point is known for being more of a quiet and relaxing place, there is still plenty to do for those that wish to get out and about.  Such activities include:

Windsurfing and Kitesurfing at Ledge Point

Ledge Point has some great spots for windsurfing and kite surfing.  The annual windsurfing competition called the Lancelin classic starts from here every year where competitors race from Ledge Point up to Lancelin.

Go Fishing at Ledge Point

With some great beaches, there is also some good land-based beach fishing to be had.  Fishing from the shore you’re likely to catch species such as whiting, bream, tailor, herring, and flathead.  

If you have a boat and a 4WD you can always launch and head out for some excellent offshore fishing targeting the likes of pink snapper and dhufish.

Go 4WDing at Ledge Point

Ledge Point is a great destination to bring the forby.  With plenty of beaches and dunes nearby there are numerous options for 4WD enthusiasts to get out and explore the surrounding coastline.
